PYP ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING (Nursery To Grade5)
Assessment is used to guide teaching and as an opportunity for children to show, in a variety of ways, what they know and what they can do. In the PYP, it takes many forms that range from checklists to monitor progress to a portfolio of a student's work.
The IBO offers schools substantial guidance for assessment, including a detailed handbook and professional development workshops. Student portfolios and records of PYP exhibitions are reviewed on a regular basis by the IBO as part of the program evaluation.
Formative Assessment: This is interwoven with daily learning and helps teachers and students find out what the students already know in order to plan the next stage of learning. Formative assessment and teaching are linked; neither can function effectively or purposefully without the other.
Summative Assessment: This occurs at the end of the teaching and learning process. It gives the students opportunities to demonstrate what they have learned. The PYP requires that individual portfolios of student achievement are kept, as an important mechanism for documenting progress.
REPORT CARDS
Reports are issued twice in conjunction with parent conferences. The full report portfolio contains examples of student work and their reflections, a student profile evaluation, the student self-analysis of the attitudes, a description of the units of inquiry, rubrics for stand-alone subjects, goal-setting and comments on progress made toward meeting goals.
MIDDLE AND HIGHER SECONDARY ASSESSMENT
School will follow CISCE / CIE board guidelines in Assessment & Evaluation. We will have Comprehensive and Continuous Evaluation (CCE) in all classes as per the guidelines prescribed by the Board.
Apart from the board exam classes (Grade 9 to 12), the promotion criteria for the other classes shall be based on objective evaluation procedures supported by weightage to different areas of assessment- namely, continuous assessment, mid term reviews and term end reviews. The academic year will have 2 semesters (terms) for the purpose of assessment and evaluation.

Analysis/Review/Follow up
Assessments and evaluation process will be supported and complimented through analysis and review. There will be active communication from school to all the parents with regards to their wards’ performance not only in academic work, but also all the other important areas such as games, activities, discipline etc.
Teachers shall carry out critical analysis of the students' performance- class wise / subject wise to identify the grey areas and suggest necessary corrective measures for improvement.
Similarly the students who are performing well will be guided to do extra work to support their interests and talents. Parents will be informed in all these exercises.
