I like it at the hostel but it only has been two weeks, maybe I shall get homesick oneday. Not likely because I get to go home on every Friday and come back on Monday.

I think the hostel is better than my house in some ways and my home is better than the hostel in some other ways.  I never lived in a school before and I never planned on living in one either but this one is an International school and it’s not like any normal school. I think this is the best school I ever went to in my life.

What do we do in the hostel? Our teacher, Mr. Kaviraj is the dormitory incharge and lives with us. We wake up at 6:30am and eat a fruit and then go jogging. After that we play football, throw ball, volley ball, but not all of them on one day. Then we have a choice to eat breakfast first and then to take a shower or to take a shower first and then eat breakfast. From  8:00 to 8:30 we study and go through the work we were supposed to do. Then we follow the normal school time, which is fun learning time.

We go back to the hostel at 3:30 and have free time till the sports teacher comes. Between 4:30 and 5:30 we play football, volley ball, cricket or throw ball after the jog. The Principal comes and takes photos of us play and when he is done he comes and plays with us. We have to take a shower after that and go for the quiet time. Each boy by himself sits under the sky for 15 minutes around 6.00 pm and listens to all the birds and little insects all-around the place and look at the stars in the night sky. After that we go to a class room in the school and study for an hour and a half. Different teachers come to help on different days and join us for dinner.

We have dinner at 8.30 pm. It is non-veg and veg because it’s your choice to eat what you want to eat. They give the best desserts. Then we play carrom board or chess sometimes with the teacher and go to sleep by 10:00 o’clock or if we have a test we study till 10:30. Well that’s the life of a Sreenidhi International School hostler.

I will tell you some thing about the hostel. It has no doors, that’s a good thing because we don’t feel boxed in. The bed is like sleeping on a cloud. The sheet is nice and warm, the fan is fast and cool but it makes no noise. There is a common area where we can go to watch TV and be with our friends. It feels like home.
